    MIM Scholars, Thammasat University received 4 awards in New Venture Championship 2019

    TU Scholars from the Master’s Degree Program in Marketing (MIM) won 4 awards in business competition in the USA.

    MIM Students, an International Master’s Degree Program from Thammasat University brought Thailand a great reputation. They participated in business competition and won 4 awards in Oregon, USA.

    New Venture Championship (NVC) 2019 was held on 11-13 April 2019 at Oregon University, Portland, Oregon, USA. There are qualified participating teams from over 16 world-class institutions. Three teams from Asia that eligible for qualifying round are BEEWARE Team from Thammasat University, BetterLife Monitor Team from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), and SPES Tech Team from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong).

    Members of BEEWARE Team from MIM, Thammasat University are Ms. Nattakan Sajvitwisan, Ms. Ornpimon Chawalitcheevin, Mr. Panit Siripanichakorn, Ms. Siripen Chinsiri, and Ms. Tiemduen Yuwajan. They won the following 4 awards:

    1. Winner – Palo Alto Software Best One-Page “Pitch” –

    Award for the best in summarizing business plan in one page.

    1. Winner – Trade Show –

    Award for the best in showing and presenting products.

    1. Winner – Sustainability Round –

    Award for the best eco product.

    1. Winner – NVC Lightning Round –

    Award for the best in impromptu business plan presentation

    BEEWARE is Bee Monitoring System business that has sensor to monitor honeycomb. It works via real-time application through Cloud System. It can effectively detect abnormality in honeycomb and allows farmers to prevent the damanges in time. It helps enhance effectiveness in making honey. This business plan is adapted from research work of Mr. Boonrit Boonmarueng and students team from Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, KMUTT.

    All in all, the winner of New Venture Championship (NVC) 2019 is Cohesys Team from Western University, University of Toronto. Also, participating teams in NVC are from well known elite universities such as McGill University and Northwestern University.
