Migrating Tourism: Joint Research President University and University of Turku Finland

Finland, which is located close to the north pole, makes it very different from Indonesia, which is lying on the equator. If Finland is famous for its dry and cold air, Indonesia is known as a tropical country that is exposed to the sunlight all year round.

This climate difference will then be discussed in joint research which will be conducted by lecturers from President University and the University of Turku Finland. The initiation of this collaboration was discussed at a meeting attended by representatives from both parties in Jakarta recently.

With the theme “Migrating Tourism”, the research wants to find out the effects of people who are moving from cold climates to tropical climates. Furthermore, this study focuses on senior citizens who are doing Migrating Tourism.

The representative from the University of Turku who attended the meeting was Ari Koski. The representatives from President University were Vice-Rector for Partnerships Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Lecturer of Electrical Engineering Ir. Adhi Widjaja, M.Sc., and Director of Partnerships Marissa Astika, B. Sc., M.B.A.
