    KazNU Establishes a Biomedical Research Center

    Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which ranks 165th in the QS global rankings, has opened a biomedicine research center with the support of the rector of the university, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Galymkair Mutanov.

    One of the goals of the Biomedical Research Center is to reduce the incidence of infectious diseases, cancer, aging, etc. the introduction of natural (phytopreparations, etc.) drugs or biologically active substances against diseases and a comprehensive study of the human immune system.

    In addition, it is being planned to train young scientists from leading universities to master the methods used in the field of biomedicine, robotics, bioinformatics programs, methods of operation of preventive medical equipment.

    Currently, the Biomedical Research Center is studying the role of immunoregulatory cells in tumors and chronic inflammation and the effects of medicinal plant extracts on animals. There is also a research and information site of the research center: Biomedicine.kz.
