The pandemic does not stop the ITS Global Engagement from conducting collaborative international events, one of which is East Java Exploration (EJx) that was held online from 15th August to the 5th of September.
Started as WAEJUC (Western Australia East Java University Consortium), a consortium between Western Australia and East Java Universities, the program has now welcomed the partnership with Sister Province from other countries. 2020 EJx was attended by 47 international students and 10 Indonesian students representing their universities.
The program aims to introduce Indonesia’s charms and potentials, especially in East Java. The participants will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively to increase the insights and experiences through an inspiring learning content that contains the topic presented by each public university in East Java.
Some of the fascinating topics brought by the universities were “Smart City” by ITS, “Maintaining Mental Health During Covid-19 Pandemic” by UNAIR, and other engaging topics delivered by other East Java Universities.
“The involvement of universities becomes a strategic point for the government to establish a relation between people and provide constructive feedback for future policymaking”, Associate Professor Dr. Maria Anityasari, the Director of ITS Global Engagement said at the opening of EJx 2020.
