    IPSOM Appoints UiTM for Collaborative Research on MCO and COVID-19

    An agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Institute of Public Security of Malaysia (IPSOM) has spearheaded research on the perception of Malaysians on the MCO towards the prevention of COVID-19 disease spread in Malaysia.

    Institute of Public Security of Malaysia (IPSOM) has appointed Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kedah Branch recently as the honorable, strategic partner to conduct collaborative research within the month of June 2020. The research is quantitative in nature using a survey method to collect primary data from the respondents, which comprises people affected by the MCO.

    The UiTM research team will be lead by Deputy Rector of Research and Industrial Linkages UiTM Kedah Branch, Professor Dr Roshima Said, assisted by 20 experienced researchers. It will focus on several outputs including the perception of the suitability of MCO implementation, the effectiveness of information sharing related to MCO and Covid-19 pandemic as well as the compliance of citizens to the lockdown enforcement.

    The input will be two-fold; firstly, to evaluate the current compliance level during MCO and secondly, to provide input to the government to devise policies and regulations to curb the spread of COVID-19 outbreak.
