Internationalisation of Swedish Higher Education and Research

The higher education landscape is inherently global and with the increased mobility of people, information and resources across borders, it helps to advance the internationalisation of tertiary institutions. Heightened international cooperation at tertiary institutions has led to the need for integration of international perspective in the management of tertiary institutions.

However, at present, the number of internationally mobile students in Sweden is below one percent and only contributes slightly more than one percent of the world’s research publications.
