    ICT in the changing landscape of higher education in Southeast Asia

    Similar to that of the developed nations, developing nations in Southeast Asia are increasing acknowledging the importance of higher education towards the development of talents needed for the nations’ advancement. Advances and pervasiveness of ICT in the society mean that higher education systems in the region are increasingly leveraging ICT in addressing the various challenges faced by the sector in Southeast Asia.

    Some of the possible roles of ICT in higher education in addressing these challenges discussed in this paper include (1) what and how students learn (2) when and where students learn (3) who the new faces of students and lecturers are (4) ways to reduce the cost of education.
