Cities are essential in today’s society because half of the global population currently live in cities. However, at the same time they pose challenges, particularly to architect planners due to the issues of a growing and aging population and the desire for better quality of life by citizens. In addition, in response to climate change, citizens are encouraged to use less energy so as to reduce carbon emissions.
