Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) climbed to the 3rd position in the latest QS Asia University Rankings, surpassing the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
HKU fell to the fifth position thereby placing it after the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
Other universities in Hong Kong that have made it to the list of top ten QS Asia University Rankings include the City University of Hong Kong (CityU) at the 8th position, outperforming the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University took the 27th place, rising two spots from its previous ranking while the Baptist University of Hong Kong remained at the 64th position. In addition, Lingnan University made a breakthrough this time around as it makes into the top 100 universities.
Research from QS also affirmed Hong Kong’s universities significant dominance in the academic world. HKUST along with five other universities in Hong Kong attained high scores due to the ability to research and conduct academic papers.
