    GIK Institute Computing Faculty visits Universities in France and Turkey

    GIK Institute is one of the most prestigious engineering institutes of the country. It focuses on teaching and research in the domains of engineering, sciences and technology. Faculty members of the institute are regularly invited to other international universities for research collaboration and other such undertakings. Recently, Dr. Zahid Halim, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering visited the Paris-Nord Computer Science Laboratory of the Paris 13 university, France. He has been appointed there as a visiting professor. His visit involved various research and teaching activities primarily in the domain of Artificial Intelligence and Human Computing. Dr. Halim also visited the Dumlupinar university, Turkey under a research project in the domain of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The research project is funded by the partners in Pakistan and Turkey, and is being executed under the Machine Intelligence Research Group (MInG) at the GIK. During the recent visits, in addition to the research and teaching activities, various seminars were also conducted by Dr. Halim, on Affective Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and engineering education which were attended by international faculty and students. Future research collaborations and project partnerships on practical and social ideas on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining and Image Processing were planned between the faculties of these institutes and GIK. The institute is constantly in a process to further strengthen alliance between top international universities through such research engagements.
