    First Day of APAIE, UNAIR Delegation Holds Strategic Meeting with 28 Partners

    UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – Asia-Pacific Association program for 2019 International Education Conference and Exhibition (APAIE) was a great opportunity for Universitas Airlangga to collaborate with international partners. Moreover, the education exhibition was attended by delegates from hundreds of universities across the world.

    The first day of exhibition on Tuesday March 26, 2019, Universitas Airlangga delegation conducted a strategic meeting with at least 28 partner universities. The strategic meeting was carried out with partners who had worked together with UNAIR previously, as well as with new partners.

    “Today, there were 28 meetings and several unscheduled meetings. We go to other universities booth and discussed possibility for a collaboration.” said Head of Division of Global Networking and Communication Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) Margaretha Rehulina.

    Margaretha said that during a meeting with partners who had collaborated with UNAIR, discussion topic was directed at the possibility for further collaboration. It can be done by expanding the range of collaboration with different other faculties, as well as by increasing number of programs. For example, previous collaboration in academic mobility can be developed into research collaboration.

    In addition, during the meeting with the previous partners, an evaluation of ongoing collaboration was also carried out. There were program offers for new partner, such as: student mobility and lecture mobility.

    “We are focused on cooperation in research and publications. It can facilitate their university professors and UNAIR professors to hold a meeting. Thus, research and publication can be shared between both parties because the function of AGE are arranging and facilitating a work meeting between univerties, ”added the lecturer of Faculty of Psychology.

    Meanwhile according to rector’s direction, Executive Director of AGE UNAIR Prof. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih said the direction of UNAIR’s collaboration with international partners this year was more focused on collaborative research, publications and citations. For this reason, continued Prof. Nyoman, this kind of educational exhibition was a good opportunity for UNAIR to establish as many partnerships as possible.

    The education exhibition will be held until Thursday March 28, 2019. Furthermore, on Wednesday March 27, 2019 UNAIR delegates will hold a strategic meeting with 21 partners and on Thursday March 28 2019, there will be 19 schedule meetings. The meeting is expected to continue to collaboration and MoU signing between two institutions. (*)
