The Anugerah Akademik Universiti (AAU) award ceremony was introduced in 2009 and is held annually during UiTM’s annual Academic Conference. The main aim of this award ceremony is to appreciate the academicians who excel and contribute in academic areas such as teaching, research, innovation, leadership, supervision and other related areas.
Congratulations to three lecturers from the Faculty of Business and Management who received the awards during the Academic Conference on 25th April 2019 at Dewan Agong Tuanku Chanselor (DATC), UiTM Shah Alam. They were Associate Professor Dr. Shafinar Ismail, Dr. Hj Abdul Rahim Hj Ridzuan, and Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Rizaimy Shahrudin.
Associate Professor Dr. Shafinar Ismail who won the ‘Anugerah Penyelidik Terbaik’ (Kelompok Pengurusan dan Perniagaan) 2018 in the event is currently the Deputy Rector of Research and Industrial Linkages, UiTM, Melaka Campus and is a very passionate and active researcher. She has successfully secured 16 local, national and international research grants valued at more than half a million (RM). She has published more than 100 publications, and is actively involved in more than 20 consultation projects. She also is the editor in-chief for Academic Journal of Business and Social Sciences. Currently, she is supervising 12 PhD students and has 3 PhD students who have already graduated. Due to her excellent performance, she has won 53 awards such as International Outstanding Guest Lecturer award, Best Researcher award, Best Commercialisation award, Best Supervisor award, Anugerah Khas Rektor for Research and Publication as well as Gold awards in various local and international innovation competitions.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hj Abdul Rahim Hj Ridzuan received the award for ‘Anugerah Ahli Akademik Harapan’ (Kelompok Pengurusan dan Perniagaan) 2018 for his outstanding performance. He is a senior lecturer who has specialised in International Economics from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Melaka campus. He is currently acting as a Co-supervisor for 3 PhD students and has been appointed as a Visiting Fellow at Fakultas Ekonomi and Bisnis of Universiti Airlangga, Indonesia. He is an avid researcher with more than 50 publications in Indexed journals, proceedings, chapters in book, newsletters and others. He has obtained more than RM300k research grants at national level and has won more than 16 gold and 4 special awards from both local and international innovation competitions. At the university level, he has won more than 15 awards such as Best Article award, Anugerah Khas Rektor for General Publication category, Index Publication awards, Consultation awards and many more.
Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Rizaimy Shahrudin received the ‘Anugerah Penerbitan Makalah Jurnal’ (Kelompok Sains Sosial & Kemanusiaan) for two consecutive years i.e. 2017 and 2018. The excellent achievement in his research paper titled “The Mediating Effects of Product Returns on the Relationship between Green Capabilities and Closed-Loop Supply Chain Adoption’ was published in the Journal of Cleaner Production which is a Q1 journal.
