    During the International Pharmaceutical Science Meeting & Workshops.. PNU gets first places in the National Medicinal Education Contest

    Students of College of Pharmacy, at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, have got the first places in the National Medicinal Education Contest, which was held within the activities of the Saudi International Pharmaceutical Science Meeting & Workshops under the title “Innovative Insights on Hospital Pharmaceutical Practice” for 3 days under the patronage of the General Administration of Pharmaceutical Care at the Ministry of Health.

    The contest is designed to reflect changes which accrue in the scientific practice of pharmacy. The competition aims to encourage students to become the best educators for patients, support the professional development of the pharmaceutical student and enhance the pharmacist’s role as a healthcare provider.

    The first phase of the competition started on the first day with 60 participants. Then they had been divided into 6 groups; each group included ten students and one judge. The participants were competing by providing an advice to the patient on the appropriate use of the medicine. The allowed time for each contestant was 4 minutes with the patient. During the first day, five students from College of Pharmacy at PNU were qualified for the second phase.

    AlBandari AlGhamdi got second place in the competition, after 6 finalists competed on the stage during the final phase, which included an illness and medication condition that was more complicated than the previous two phases.

    On the other hand, Jawaher AlShahrani, Modi AlNwaiser and  Atlal AlMutairi won the third place for the best scientific poster after their participation in the same competition for the scientific posters category.
