UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA NEWS – International collaboration continues to be encouraged by Universitas Airlangga. This time a Memorandum of Understanding with one of the leading universities from Bangladesh added to the long list of UNAIR collaborations with foreign universities.

The university was Daffodil International University, a university located in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Some representatives visited Management Office of Campus C UNAIR, on Tuesday afternoon, July 2, 2019. There was Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub UI Haque Majumder, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Daffodil International University and Syed Raihan-Ui-Islam, Assistant Director International Affairs.

UNAIR’s meeting with Daffodil International University had been carried out three times. This time, the third meeting resulted in an agreement through the signing of an MoU.

In the MoU, there are some agreements. One of them stated that the cooperation between the two parties focused on several faculties such as Faculty of Public Health (FKM), Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Pharmacy (FF), and Faculty Science and Technology (FST).

UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., discussed some possible cooperation programs at the meeting. Accompanied by some Airlangga Global Education (AGE) representatives, Prof. Nasih said the Summer Course program for both parties might be done immediately. The international collaboration, continued Prof. Nasih, continues to be strengthened by UNAIR as an internationalization effort.

“International collaboration is an important element, especially in the academic field, to improve the quality of education in each institution, especially based on international standardization, “stated Prof. Nasih in his room.

In agreement with Prof. Nasih’s statement, Viqi Ardaniah, S.S., M.A. Linguistics., as AGE representative said that this visit discussed the student exchange collaboration program in the form of summer programs that will be carried out this July.

From the meeting also, said Viqi, UNAIR was allowed to choose seven students to take part in student exchanges for the Summer Program at Daffodil International University. The seven students consisted of six students from FEB and one student from FIB. They will take part in the Summer program on July 11-21, 2019.

“From this meeting, we hope that there will be other collaboration from student exchange, staff exchange, to joint research,” she said.

“This is also a part of strengthening collaboration in the future,” she stated. (*)
