Colleges may be struggling, but art schools? Not so much

Art and design schools are facing less challenge with regards to student enrollment rate in comparison other tertiary institutions. Enrollment in colleges and universities have witnessed a six percent slide in the decade through 2016. However, on the contrary, it only declined by four percent at art schools according to the latest available information by the Association of Independent Colleges of Arts and Design.

At the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the student population has in fact increased by six percent since 2012. The increment can be attributed to the success witnessed by most students securing jobs within their fields upon graduation. Further, artists and designers have higher life satisfaction because they are working on something that they are passionate about while making money at the same time.
