Chulalongkorn University and KBank Collaborate for the CU NEX Project

Digital and technological advancement in education is increasing both the competition and opportunities for students, universities, and other educational institutions. With rapid digital evolution, Universities cannot deny their role in increasing the quality of education, as well as the creation of an environment supportive of the digital lifestyle.

Chulalongkorn University and KBank have collaborated for the CU NEX Project. This initiative aims to make Chulalongkorn University a “Digital Lifestyle University”. With the use of digital technology, the project envisions integrating all disciplines of knowledge within the university and community.

Students will receive virtual IDs for accessing facility services, making cashless transactions and exchanging information in the university and its networks.

The enhanced digital lifestyle on campus will result in promoting learning opportunities and improving business potentials. Activities like “TechJam”, “MAPS, and “ChAMP,” provide students with knowledge from world-class tech hubs and open doors to the global marketplace.

Moreover, Data Hub that features information in Chulalongkorn’s network will create Business Intelligence (BI) algorithms that can customize learning formats to match students’ individual patterns. Several layers of data protection and blockchain technology will be used to guard the access restriction in Data Hub.

After successfully serving over 50,000 students, lecturers, and staff on campus, the plan is to include more than 500,000 “Chula Citizens” in its nexus and to apply to other universities nationwide.
