    An FCSE Student represents GIK in China as Huawei’s Seed for the Future

    This year, for Huawei’s 5th Seeds for the Future program, Higher Education Commission shortlisted 10 students from all provinces who were pursuing their undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field. Maria Gulzar, a final year Computer Engineering Student was chosen from GIK to take part in this two-weeks program in China. Over the course of the program, the students visited Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen where classes on 5G technologies, Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence were given followed by cultural exchanges and diversity celebration events.

    The program is designed to invite young ICT talent for an international exposure to work with Huawei officials and understand the importance of a fully connected world through technological resources. The program equips student with the resources to utilise the latest technologies and work towards global connectivity through breakthroughs in the telecommunications industry.

    The opening and closing ceremonies were attended by several federal ministers of Pakistan including Mr. Abdul Razzak Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Mr. Khusro Bakhtiyar, Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Mr. Charles Yang, Vice President Huawei and Mr. Javed Afridi, entrepreneur and CEO Haier Pakistan.
