    Amrita University Faculty Gets Selected as Regional Mentor of Change for the Planning Commission of Government of India

    Prof. Prashant R. Nair, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, India has been selected as a Regional Mentor of Change for Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog (Planning Commission) of Government of India. 37 professionals all over India have been selected as regional mentors and felicitated by Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog and Mr. R. Ramanan, Mission Director, AIM at New Delhi on 31 January 2020.

    Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is the Government of India’s flagship initiative to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. AIM’s objective is to develop new programs and policies for fostering innovation in different sectors of the economy, provide platform and collaboration opportunities for different stakeholders, create awareness and create an umbrella structure to oversee the innovation ecosystem of the country. The mandate of the regional mentor is to coordinate various initiatives and programs of the Atal Innovation Mission like Atal Tinkering Labs, Mentor India program, etc. NITI Aayog is the planning commission and policy think tank of the Indian government chaired by the Prime Minister of India.
