Alinamed, An App Created by Alumni of Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga can Invite Doctors Anywhere and Anytime

A doctor who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR)  created a health app to make it easier for patients to seek treatments. The application is named ‘Alinamed’ and can be downloaded via Google Playstore. It is a digital platform that can be used by anyone to bring in doctors anytime and anywhere.

The pioneer was Riswanda Noorisa, a Faculty of Medicine UNAIR alumni, also known as Dr Wawan. According to him, the purpose of developing Alinamed was not only to treat patients’ illnesses but also to improve the quality of life by improving healthy lifestyles.

“According to WHO data and Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018, about 71 percent of deaths in Indonesia are caused by diseases related to bad lifestyles, such as from a stroke, diabetes, heart disease, and other diseases. This bad lifestyle occurs not in clinics or hospitals, but at home, at work, and in our daily environment,” said the doctor born in Tuban, July 10, 1994.

“So in my opinion, doctors can’t just sit in clinics or practice places. But they must come to the source of a bad lifestyle. That is why we encourage doctors at Alinamed to come, so they can solve the problem directly to its roots, “he added.

Alinamed is expected to be the app that cares about the community the most. Dr Wawan believes that every sick person must be given their right to get the right diagnosis. Of course, with a direct exam by the original doctor, not just through chatting like other apps.

Since the first day Alinamed was developed, Dr Henry and his team designed the app to be a one-stop solution for the people of Surabaya. Alinamed is currently working with six pharmacies in Surabaya to provide drug delivery services. So, if someone is sick, just sit at home, medicine and doctors will come.

“We also develop artificial intelligence to help doctors provide comprehensive diagnoses and information about possible diseases in the next 5-10 years,” he said.

Alinamed can provide treatments to treat diabetic wounds, burns, check sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol, replace feeding hoses and urinary tubes, birth control injections, and other treatments. During Alinamed’s development, Dr Wawan claimed to have the full support of the family and UNAIR. There was also a positive response from the community that made him even more enthusiastic.

“I want Alinamed to participate in improving the quality of life of Indonesian people. So, if Alinamed’s user is a child, he will a better growth, If he is a teenager, he will not be disturbed by his education, and if he is an elderly person, he will have a happy life until the end of his life, “said the 26-year-old doctor.

Please note, since it was launched by the Rector of Universitas Airlangga on February 4, 2020, Alinamed has been downloaded 320 times, with 10 patients using the service and two of them had repeat use of services.

”As youngsters, our job is to talk about the future. Devoting all the energy of youth given by God to make innovations that bring social impact. Therefore, while we are still young, don’t ever be afraid to innovate and dream as high as possible” he concluded.
