Ajman University’s “Sense7” Takes Top Honors in Regional Awards at Reimagine Education

Ajman University’s entry in the QS Reimagine Education Awards – the “Oscars” of Teaching and Learning – earned top honors in the “Regional Awards” category at the recent QS Reimagine Education Conference in San Francisco, California.

“Sense7,” developed by AU lecturer Eng. Tazeen Sharif and two AU alumni, is an A.I.-based solution that enables the visually impaired to participate in mainstream education and develop vocational skills.

“Sense7 embodies the core values of Ajman University,” Chancellor Karim Seghir, Ph.D., commented.  “Our research is at the intersection of compassion and innovation.”

The QS Reimagine Awards are extremely competitive. This year, 1184 entries were received of which only 17 earned awards.  Sense7 was shortlisted in October and emerged as a winner on November 30.

Founded in 1988 as the first private institution of higher education in the GCC, Ajman University is now listed by QS Rankings among the top 1000 universities in the world and one of the top 150 under 50.
