55 Unusa Lecturers Join Applied Approach (AA) Training

Surabaya – Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya (Unusa) held an Applied Approach (AA) training at the 3rd Floor Tower of Fastron Cafe, Unusa Campus B, Jemursari, Surabaya, Monday (08/04/2019). As many as 55 lecturers attended the training facilitated by the Region VII Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI).

This activity is intended for new lecturers to obtain AA certification as one of the requirements for lecturers to have functional positions on campus. Face-to-face meetings will be held for a week (8-12 April 2019) followed by research and writing for the next three weeks.

Deputy Chancellor 1 Unusa Prof. Kacung Marijan greatly appreciated the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the lecturers in attending the AA training. This is in line with the campus’s desire to encourage every lecturer to have a functional position.

“In 2021, there are no more lecturers who do not have functional positions, except for new lecturers, of course. Why is that, because the main target of the campus, in 2021, is the year in which Unusa has entered the next stage, which is included in the top 100 universities in Indonesia, “he said.

According to Kacung, currently Unusa is entering the age of 6, entering the elementary school stage, meaning that it is standing upright. With legs that are already sturdy, Unusa can run fast to reach the final stage in 2021. “At least at that time Unusa already had a professor,” Kacung said optimistically.

Meanwhile Prof. Dr. V Rudy Handoko MSi from LLDIKTI Region VII East Java said character training made lecturers as good instructors, while AA training was lecturer learning from analysis to evaluation.

“AA training makes the lecturer complete. The lecturer is not only good at teaching, thorough and dedicated, but also the lecturer track record is important. So the lecturer does not just research it but also must be able to put it in a written or journal work, “Rudy said.

Rudy said this was important in supporting the target of Unusa who wanted to enter the 100 circle of universities. The tight competition must be balanced with the quality of the campus, where SDM contributes 30 percent; research and research 40 percent; governance, student affairs, etc., 10 percent each
